About the Author

Writing professionally since 2008, LeTeisha Newton’s love of romance novels began long before it should have. After spending years sneaking reads from her grandmother’s stash, she finally decided to pen her own tales. As many will do during their youth, she bounced from fantasy, urban literature, mainstream, interracial, paranormal, heterosexual, and LGBT works until she finally rested in contemporary romance.

LeTeisha is all about deep angst and angry heroes who take a bit more loving to smooth their rough edges. Love comes in many sizes, shapes, and colors, as well as with—or without—absolute beauty and fairy tale sweetness. She writes the darker tales because life is hard … but love is harder.

#CoverReveal THE FOX AND THE HOUND (Special Forces Operation Alpha Kindle World Series) by, Wren Michaels

SQUEE! I’m so happy to reveal to everyone my awesome cover for my November 22nd release! I’m honored and excited to be writing a novella for Susan Stoker’s Special Forces Operation Alpha Kindle World.

If you are unfamiliar with her Kindle World, check it out here! She has two fantastic series, one with Delta Force Heroes and the other with Navy SEALs. My story takes place in her Navy SEAL world, utilizing some of her characters from her book, PROTECTING CAROLINE.

finalcover

Jayla “Fox” McFadden ‘MacGyvered her way through college and right onto the radar of the CIA. Instead of getting busted, she got offered a job. She’s a chemist by day, but moonlights on special missions utilizing her unique talents when needed, everything from bomb building to booby traps. She’s fought tooth and black-polished nail to make her way in the world and prove she’s more than a set of tits. From her thick, black eyeliner to her Doc Martens with leather mini-skirts, she stands out, and likes it that way.

Noah “Hound” Kendrick is the best tracker on his SEAL team. Haunted by the fact that he got his mother killed, he put his body, mind, and soul into the SEALs in retribution, trying to make the world a better place. They are his duty and family now, nothing gets in the way. Especially love, as he refuses to open up his heart and lose someone at his expense ever again.

Jayla’s latest mission is to retrieve a list of buyers from an arms dealer. She’s teamed with the SEALs who must take out a bunker hidden offshore near the dealer’s private island. But a squall line from an impending hurricane throws off their plans as Jayla and Noah get separated from the team, washing up on a deserted air force base in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Now the Fox and the Hound must survive the elements and each other, as they ride out the physical and emotional storm heading their way.

This book is a crossover novella with a brand new series I’m starting called:

So mark your calendars! November 22nd will be here before you know it!

read-excerpt_lg

Jayla gripped her beer so hard her knuckles turned white. She fully intended on flirting for some fun at the party, but she didn’t expect anything to come of it. While SEALs were pretty to look at, they had a notorious rep for quick romps and even quicker exits. She refused to be a notch on a bedpost.

But her plans nosedived the minute she laid eyes on that Hound guy. Her head screamed at her to run far, far away. Her vadge yelled louder, forcing her to picture him with a lot less clothing involved. Damn his taunting forearm porn. Sinewy muscles flexed every time he took a drink of his beer. She ached to lick the plump lips displayed on his stark jawline, with a chin that stuck out just a hair too far, yet it seemed a perfect fit on his asymmetrical face. Add in his big, broody forehead and she was done for.

His deep brown eyes locked onto her own, holding her in a staring match. The intensity in them freaked her out a little. A sure fire sign that when this guy wanted something, he’d let nothing get in his way. She broke their gaze and focused her attention on his short, dark brown hair, finding a pair of fancy-ass sunglasses sitting on top like some hot-shot movie star.

Find something annoying about him, Jayla, it’ll be easier to diffuse the situation and walk away. And make it quick before you do something really stupid, like give him a lap dance on the cooler.

She glanced at some movement behind him only to find another SEAL headed her way, wearing a shit-eating grin with fuck-me eyes. Definite womanizing material. A pretty boy, with the bed count to match probably. Shit.

She focused back on Noah as she summed up her options. Plan A—exit the party early. Or Plan B…which was still a work in progress. Since Melinda drove them both to the party, she was stuck. Plan B it would have to be. Regret already toiled in her gut at the thought.

“Kiss me,” she whispered, not believing the words actually made it out of her head.

Noah blinked. “Say what?”

“Are you sure you’re not deaf?” She sucked in a deep breath and launched herself at his lips.

He stumbled backward before wrapping one arm around her waist, keeping their balance. Jayla dropped her bottle behind him and slid her hands along his neck, taut with muscle and sun-kissed warmth. A twinge of excitement hit her belly as their lips met. For a shocked moment his mouth froze, before his lips slanted and welcomed her.

His cologne hit her nose, sending another fissure of adrenaline through her. He curled his fingers into her back. “What are you doing?” he mouthed against the kiss.

“Just go with it, okay?” she whispered back, still pressed to his mouth.

“Fine.” His lips curled into a smile and his other arm snaked around her, dipping her backwards as he deepened the kiss, sliding his tongue past her lips.

Jayla’s heart plunged to her stomach, an impressive feat considering she now hung upside down in Noah’s arms. His tongue swept away all thoughts as he explored her mouth with the fervor of a hormonal teenager, but far better technique. Her hands that once held the warmth of his neck now clung to his thick biceps for dear life, curling her nails into his skin. That was going to leave a mark.

“What are you doing?” she groaned into the kiss.

His lips vibrated against hers as he chuckled. “Going with it.”

#CoverReveal MURMUR, by Anne Conley A Pierce Securities Novel

Exclusive blurb from Murmur, Book 5 in Anne’s Pierce Securities Series:

Valerie Dunaway is a former socialite who has hidden from the public eye for years, due to a horrific attack that left her scarred—physically and emotionally.

When a strange masked man makes himself at home with her, she’s unable to run. She calls the cops, but the agoraphobic won’t go into protective custody, so Detective Hollerman calls the only people he trusts: Pierce Securities.

Quinten Pierce is a Renaissance man—artist, lawyer, fighter—but his latest assignment has him losing his ever-present control. He’s got one fight left in his career, and although he can’t wait for it to be over, his opponent seems to have ties to Valerie, thus forcing him to hold on until he finds out exactly who he’s working with.

With the help of the Pierce team, the scarred princess and the gentle giant must silence the murmurs of the past that threaten their future.

Unedited Excerpt from Murmur:
The more Quinten learned about the reason for Valerie Dunaway’s agoraphobia, the less he liked it.
Quinten looked over Evan’s shoulder at the three massive monitors.

“She doesn’t appear to have left her house in three years, dude.  She shops online, doesn’t have a car registered to her, nothing.”
Quinten rubbed his jaw in thought.  “Who comes in and out?”
“A therapist comes once a week.  She pays a house keeper and a man who does gardening and errand-running type stuff.  But it looks like that’s about it.  She cut all ties with friends and family after the incident.  Maybe they took sides?”  Evan’s eyes pored over the screens in front of him, faster than Quinten could process what the man was reading.
“What exactly did her husband do to her?  You said sliced and diced?”  Evan’s choice of words churned in his stomach.  Quinten peered at the screens, desperate to find the one that made sense.
“She was a model when they met.  She came from old money.  The Dunaways?  They married into the Stadlers and created a dynasty.”  Quinten nodded. That’s why she sounded familiar.  He was pretty sure some of his parents’ dinner parties had involved the Dunaways and Stadlers.  “Well, she was their face.  Apparently, when she married Argyle Ford, he wanted her to stop being her family’s face piece, and when she wouldn’t, he tied her to their marital bed and sliced her face up with a straight razor.”
Quinten’s stomach churned at the prospect of a man doing something like that to the woman he vowed to honor and cherish.  “When you say, ‘sliced her face up,’ what exactly, do you mean?”
“Put her in the hospital for two weeks.  There were other injuries, mostly from the restraints he used.  Her lawyer wouldn’t let her do any reconstructive surgery except the bare minimum until after the trial.”
Evan’s fingers flew over keys and he pointed at one of the monitors.  There, displayed larger than life, was the most beautiful creature he’d ever seen, on the arm of some guy, in a newspaper article.
Quinten sat back in his chair.  So she’d put the man who’d sworn to love her in prison after he’d taken away her identity as a woman in the worst possible way. She was a model, at least for her family’s enterprises—her mother’s clothing company, and her father’s golf club.  Quinten had been there with his dad.  She also was a spokesperson for numerous charities.  She used her beauty for good, it seemed.  And it had pissed off her husband?  Was she hogging all his attention?  Quinten shook his head, unable to understand it.
At least she’d taken a stand against her attacker.  That should have been a step toward recovery.  What would be so bad that a woman who lived in the limelight would suddenly disappear from it?
“Tell me if the bastard’s still in jail,” Quinten murmured as he leaned forward to try to make sense of Evan’s screens again.  The computer wiz was clicking through them so fast, even Quinten couldn’t keep up.
“Well, I’ll be damned…” Evan mused, his fingers clicking on keys.
“What?” Quinten growled.
“Looks like he got out last month.”  Another couple of clicks and something whirred to the left of Quinten.  “I’m printing out his address for you.  It seems he’s living with an uncle on the other side of the lake from Ms. Dunaway.”
That news didn’t make Quinten happy at all.
“I’m going to her house.  See what you can get as far as backgrounds on friends and family, especially his.  Find me some trial transcripts.  And we’ll go from there.”
Evan nodded, still absorbed in the data on his monitors.  “Will do.”

A prolific author of short erotica, she’s also a published poet and fantasy writer—but BDSM-spiced contemporaries, hot paranormals, and sexy science fiction romances have become her favorite things to write.

I write romance: m/f, m/m, and v/h, where the h is for human and the v is for vampire…or sometimes demon. I write funny. I don’t write angst. When I’m not writing I take care of tiny premature babies or teenagers, depending on whether I’m at home or at work. My husband is a soul of patience, my dog is the cutest thing evah(!), and we’re up to three ferrets.

So I think this is the part where I’m supposed to say something super cool, win you over, and make you my life-long superfan…OR wait, is that how I am about my anime collection?

Probably.

Basically, I’m an author, blogger, geek, and villain lover (Joker IS MINE!). There shouldn’t be any surprise then that I tend to love my heroes a bit broken, all messed up, and in need of someone who understands them just the way they are.

Hell, my heroines are right there with them. You see, love is nice, it’s sweet. It can be all rainbows and glowing stars. And then it can be dark, twisted, hurtful, and feel so damn good you have to scream about it. So I write like that. From one side of the spectrum to the other, because that’s real. That’s life. And that’s what we crave–delving into a fantasy world or not.

When she’s not plotting ways to sneak her latest shoe purchase past her partner, Amanda writes sexy, snarky romance and urban fantasy. She likes her heroines smart and unafraid to make mistakes, and her heroes strong enough to take them on.
If she’s not writing, she’s reading, drinking hot chocolate, and trying not to destroy her house with her newest DIY project. She lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and no, it really doesn’t rain that much.
I write a variety of different kinds of romance for Entangled Publishing, Evernight Publishing, and M&M Publishing. I’m an Oregon Ducks fan. I’m a donut and pastry addict (pretty much any carbs, really). I like cats. I’m terrified of balloons. When I’m not writing you’ll find me in a college classroom teaching English, and of course, wrangling my family.

Kate at WWW 2016 (1)Kate Richards divides her time between Los Angeles and the High Sierras. She would gladly spend all her days in the mountains, but she’d miss the beach…and her very supportive husband’s commute would be three hundred miles. Wherever she is, she loves to explore all different kinds of relationships in her stories. She doesn’t believe one-size-fits-all, and whether her characters live BDSM, ménage, GLBT, spanking, or any other kind of lifestyle, it’s the love, the joy in one another, that counts.

SYNOPSIS

Welcome to Mystic, Texas, where the past stays alive in more ways than one.
Vanessa Power, a budding Indie Romance author, believes the town is calling her name, being the new life and fresh start she’s craving. She’s met an amazing group of women who have a regular book club, reading only Indie Authors. Unfortunately, her new house is in worse shape than she thought and holds more mysteries than she’s prepared for. And then there’s the handyman.
Linc Patterson holds more mysteries than her house and the town combined, with a past he won’t reveal in a package which is built for nothing short of sin.
Linc is captivated by his new boss, the only person in town who will give him a job, but only because she doesn’t know he’s an ex-con. Can he keep his past locked away, while at the same time indulging in his fantasies with the pleasantly curvy and deliciously sexy Vanessa? Probably not.
They are both looking for a new start in life. Will they be able to find it together? Or will something sinister keep them apart?

UNEDITED excerpt:

“I wish I could watch him fix my house up all day.”
“Aren’t you married?” Kristie pointed out, to which Melanie only shrugged.
“Married.  Not dead.”
Vanessa blushed. “Yeah, he says he can fix it. It’s going to take a while though,” she hedged.
“Of course it will. You’re in the Evan’s place? He may need to rebuild it, that would take years,” Wren was grinning widely at her, and Vanessa had to admit the thought had crossed her mind.
“Yeah,” she repeated feeling a little stupid. “He’s certainly not hard to look at.”
Giggles and murmurs of ‘you get him girl’ echoed around her. “But doesn’t he have a girlfriend?” She remembered Cindy at the hardware store and the giggling in the background when she’d called.
Samantha wore a rare frown. “She’s temporary. You’re way better than she is.”
Okay, so there was a history here, and she was apparently the new piece of it. She wasn’t sure how she felt about that. Before she could wrap her head around it, the living room turned into chaos.
Wren’s wine glass flew out of her hand and spilled all over Kristie’s linen, issuing a shriek from the woman. “Dammit! Sam, can you get control of Addison? She does this shit every time I come over.”
Samantha was sheepish. “Sorry. She likes company.”
“Never at your house again.” Kristie rubbed frantically at her blouse, muttering very unladylike curses under her breath.
Vanessa was looking around for other people in the house, children maybe, she couldn’t see for some reason. Then she realized what she was doing. Looking for invisible kids. Nothing had touched Wren’s wine glass.
“Who is Addison?” She almost didn’t want to know the answer, especially after remembering the lotion incident.
“She’s my ghost,” Samantha said blithely as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.
The words were spoken with so many undertones, Vanessa couldn’t comprehend them all at once. One, that it was obvious she had a ghost. Like a pet. Like everyone had one. Like it was normal. Vanessa took a sip of wine, trying not to jump to the conclusion her new friend was a few French fries short of a happy meal.
“Cool,” she said noncommittally, even though her mind raced with the events she’d felt at her own home. Walking around with cobwebs, cool hands… was that a ghost? No. No ghosts in her house. Her house was going to be an awesome home someday. She hadn’t signed up for ghosts.
Tiffany took a massive bite of sandwich and then spoke around her mouth full of food. “You probably have one too. They’re everywhere here.”
“What do you mean?” They were all nuts. But at least they seemed harmless. At least, that’s what people said until they pulled out the box of candles and live chickens. Her eyes darted around, looking for someplace to keep wildlife. It didn’t look like there was any place to store a sacrifice and she didn’t see a Ouija board anywhere…
“This town is built on some sort of fault line to the underworld,” Wren said. “The veil to the other side is thin in Mystic.” She shrugged, as if she hadn’t just spoken lines straight off a horror movie trailer. “You get used to it.”
Vanessa tried not to roll her eyes, even if this was a bunch of mumbo jumbo.
“Okay.” She hoped.
“I’ve got a ton of them at the museum. I think they come in with people’s stuff,” Kristie was trying to get the wine stain out of her pants. “But mine are way better behaved than Addison. Jesus. That girl will be the death of me.”
Vanessa took it all in stride, or at least she tried to. A haunted town? Not wanting her new friends to think she wasn’t a team player, she asked, “So, does every place have one?”
Melanie shrugged. “Yeah. Most of them, anyway. It takes a while with new places for them to imprint themselves.” Damn. She’d had high hopes for Melanie being the sane one—the voice of reason in the madness.
“So, what do they do? Mess with electrical stuff? Make people crawl on ceilings?” An uncomfortable laugh erupted from Vanessa, and she tried to hide it with stuffing a piece of cheesecake in her mouth.
“No, not really.” Kristie was still patting at her stain. “They just hang around. You can tell they’re there by the way they smell, sometimes they touch you and stuff. But Addison is a damn poltergeist, and she’s a total bitch.”
“So, they’re not out to get you or anything?” She was trying. Really.
“Hell no! I love mine,” Wren replied.
“Mine came with me when I moved here,” Tiffany offered. “He wasn’t around when I lived in Dallas, but when I moved here, he must have done what Kristie said, and come with my stuff, because something here makes him stay.” Her voice was funny, but Vanessa didn’t pry. It sounded like she had known her ghost in real life, and talking about it made her want to cry.
“The Pint has an old saloon girl. She pinches the guys’ butts and such. She likes to push couples together,” Sam was getting into it, her voice taking on a sing-songy quality, like any great story-teller. “The story goes, she was in love with the Sherriff, but he wouldn’t have her, since she was a lady of the night, and she hung herself.”
“Are they all attached to horrific stories?” Vanessa didn’t want to think about something awful happening in her home. She was still desperately trying to think of it in those terms, even though it didn’t look homey at all.
“No. Most of them are just old, dead people. That’s what mine is. I named her Kitty. I have no idea where she came from, but she’s there now. Smells like White Shoulders.” Kristie giggled like a kid, apparently having gotten over her anger at Addison.
Vanessa’s mind spun, wondering if she had a ghost, or if these women were total nut cases. Dear god. All her new friends were Looney Tunes.

Excerpt:

Hunter went right back into the bathroom to do whatever he intended to do to get that roaring erection under control.  Allison pondered following him and helping him out, one way or another.
Two things stopped her; first, her legs were so weak from that flipping amazing orgasm that she didn’t think she could walk across the room, and secondly, the anticipation of owing him heated her all over again.
While he’d showered the first time, she’d moved all their luggage to the closet. Now, she went to find a dry pair of panties.
She changed them and sat on the bed, waiting for Hunter and remembering his fingers on her and in her. The ghost of his touch still lingered on her skin and in the receding pulse of her orgasm.
If that was just a sample of what they’d do to each other, she didn’t need to sleep on it. To hell with caution, she was ready for more.
But apparently he’d decided they’d stick to the agreement.
It didn’t take long for him to finish in the bathroom, and when he left the bathroom this time, he looked like he could barely contain his triumph. Like by making her come like that he’d proven some primal point. Like he’d achieved a coup, vanquished a rival, swept in and made a hostile takeover. He puffed his chest, threw his shoulders back, and pretty much strutted into the room.
“Kinda proud of yourself there, chief?” she asked.
“Maybe a little. Where’s my suitcase?”
She pointed at the closet. He went in and rummaged, coming out with charcoal slacks and a blue shirt. He laid everything out on the bed, then paused.
“There are four restaurants here. Any idea what you’re hungry for?” she asked.
“Seriously, you have to ask?”
She looked at him, saw the unfiltered lust in his eyes, and remembered he still hadn’t been properly taken care of. A little bit of waiting wouldn’t hurt Mr. I-get-everything-I-want-when-I-want-it CEO. Might build some character.
“Patience is a virtue, you know.”
“I don’t like to wait.”
“Waiting makes everything better.”
“Bullshit.”
“You’ll see.”
He rolled his eyes, and she smiled. This weekend could be a lot of fun.
“Are you going to sit there while I dress?” he asked.
“Do you want me to?”
“Yes. But if you do, we won’t be waiting for tomorrow. If I get naked with you now, you’d better be ready to skip dinner and forget about sleep for most of the night.”
“Well, then. I’ll step out and let you dress. Because I’m starving.”
“Coward.”
She slid off the bed, laughing at his fake insult. As she passed him on the way to the door, she grabbed the edge of his towel and yanked it off.
He growled and reached for her, but she squealed and ran for the living room. She flopped onto the couch, giggling like a little girl, but when she looked back to the bedroom Hunter stood in the doorway, naked as the day he was born, the single most glorious man she’d ever had the privilege to witness in the nude.
He’d reached up and hooked his fingers over the top of the door jamb, and lounged there casually displaying himself for her perusal. She had no doubt he meant for her to understand what she was missing. Her skin tingled, and her mouth watered in appreciation. She’d need to change her panties again.
Tall, tan, lean, and hung, Hunter made the perfect argument without even saying a word.
“Wow.” How she managed even one coherent word, she had no idea.
He grinned. “Damn right, wow.”
“Ego much?”
He shrugged and turned back to the bedroom, giving her a great view of his ass.
Waiting for tomorrow would be a serious challenge, but she didn’t like to lose any more than he did, so she’d wait. Until then, she’d have as much fun teasing him as possible.
